The Royal Fleet Auxiliary service has again proved that they are “Ready for Anything”, on 7 November RFA Argus, which was operating off the southern coast of the UK, hosted deck landing trials from what will be the Royal Navy’s future helicopter, the ‘Wildfire’.

These deck landing trials were the first of their kind for the new aircraft, which is set to enter service with the Royal Navy in 2013, and in front of representatives from Augusta Westland, the Royal Navy and the Aircraft Test and Evaluation Centre the trials were carried out.

The Wildfire is a variant of the Lynx helicopter which has been much updated and improved for service at sea, hopefully we will see them operating from RFA ships in the future.
