14 April 1928 launched by Gotaverken A/B, Gothenburg as Yard Nr: 410 named Glittre for Smedvigs Tankrederi A/S (Peder Smedvig/Fernley & Eger, Managers), Stavanger

June 1928 completed

9 April 1940 was in Aruba about to sail for Boston when War broke out in Norway

1940 to 1942 fitted as and served as an Escort Oiler, name unchanged

23 April 1940 sailed Aruba independently to Haliax arriving 4 May 1940

21 August 1941 sailed New York independently to Haliax arriving 24 August 1940

10 September 1941 sailed Halifax in convoy HX149 to Loch Ewe arriving 23 September 1941

11 February 1942 sailed Liverpool in convoy ON166 in ballast but with 600t of fuel oil aboard for the escorts

23 February 1942 torpedoed by U628 in position 47.11N 35.35W and was abandoned, slowly sinking. She was again torpedoed by U603, broke in two and sank with the loss of three lives. Thirty four survivors were rescued by the corvette HMS DIANTHUS and landed at St John’s three days later
