4 April 1934 launched by Lithgows, Port Glasgow as Yard No: 868 named Jamaica Producer for Jamaica Banana Producers’ Steamship Co Ltd., (Kaye, Son & Co., Managers), Kingston, Jamaica

June 1934 completed as a refrigerated cargo liner

2 May 1937 at sea at 46°27N 13°22W Assistant Steward Charles Pennycock MacNeil discharged dead having been lost overboard and drowned – presumed suicide

26 April 1938 passed Gravesend

7 September 1938 at the Public Hospital, Kingston, Jamaica  Fireman Thomas Loftus discharged dead from pneumonia. He had been discharged from the ship to hospital on 24 August 1938

11 November 1938 on board at Graces Wharf, Kingston, Jamaica  Storekeeper James Peter Nielson discharged dead from a Coronary Thrombosis
