31 December 1917 struck a mine laid by German submarine UC-34 (Oberleutnant zue See Horst Obermuller)  the previous day and sank at the entrance to Alexandria Harbour with the loss of 24 of her crew including the ship’s Master. The survivors were picked up by HMS JACKEL
