21 August 1918 at 39.64°N 69.25°W a submarine periscope was sighted. The ship made off at full speed.  A torpedo missed by some 20 feet and the submarine then surfaced and excahnged gun fire with the ship. The ship made good her escape

24 September 1918 requisitioned for Admiralty service as a stores carrier, name unchanged

5 December 1918 reported via Lloyds that when on passage from Archangel to the UK grounded on Midtboen Haugesund damaging the forepeak and No: 1 hold
