RFA Plumleaf was sunk during an air-raid on Malta on the 4th April 1942, the ship sank to her deck level at Parlatorio Wharf. She was used as a fuel hulk for the rest of the war, being finally raised on the 27th August 1947 and towed to Italy where she was scrapped.
